New DSI and HPI study about the future of AI funding featured in multiple news outlets

A new American College of Radiology® (ACR®) Data Science Institute (DSI) and Harvey L. Neiman Health Policy Institute (HPI) study that estimates AI medical imaging products will increase five-fold by 2035 was featured in multiple prominent news outlets.

The study, recently published in the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR), found that annual AI funding grew from $2 billion in 2013 to $13 billion in 2022. It currently takes about six years from funding to FDA approval, and researchers project funding will be $30.8 billion in 2029, which would lead to a whopping 350 FDA-approved products in 2035.

This research was featured in Aunt Minnie, Health Exec, Radiology Business and Imaging Wire, where the author compared the JACR study with an ongoing analysis of venture capital funding by Signify Research.
