The Cybersecurity Work Group, co-chaired by Dr. Christoph Wald and Dr. Neris Nieves-Robbins, has been working tirelessly to raise awareness and improve cybersecurity in the radiology community. Meeting quarterly, the group has been building resources and providing education on the importance of cyber hygiene to radiology professionals.
In 2022, members of the work group presented at the American College of Radiology (ACR) Imaging Informatics Summit 2022 and conducted a webinar on Cybersecurity for Radiology Professionals as part of National Radiologic Technologist Week with the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). The webinar was well-received, with more than 1,100 viewers in attendance, demonstrating the high level of interest and concern for cybersecurity in the radiology community.
To further support the radiology community, the ACR Cybersecurity Hub continue to be updated with new content to provide radiologists with the necessary tools and knowledge to keep themselves, their patients, and their organizations safe from cyber threats. The work group's efforts to raise awareness and improve cybersecurity in the radiology community are commendable and essential for ensuring the safety and protection of sensitive patient information.
